Privacy Policy

Last updated July 24, 2026

Detail Lab ("Detail Lab", "we", "us", "our") provides mobile auto detailing services in Boulder County, Colorado, through this website at detaillabs.co. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what control you have over it.

1. Who This Covers

This policy applies to information we collect from visitors to detaillabs.co, from people who request a quote or book a service, from customers we perform work for, and from people who contact us by phone, text, or email.

It does not apply to any third-party website you reach through a link from ours. Those sites have their own policies.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

  • Name, mobile phone number, and email address
  • Service address, when the work is performed at your home or office
  • Vehicle details such as year, make, model, and size
  • Which service and add-ons you selected, and the date and time you chose
  • Notes you write in the booking or quote form
  • Whether you agreed to receive text messages
  • Anything you tell us by phone, text, email, or in the website assistant

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our hosting provider and analytics receive standard technical information: your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you viewed, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. We use this to keep the site working and to understand which pages are useful.

Information we create

We keep a service history for your vehicle, records of appointments and cancellations, a log of text messages sent to and received from you, and internal notes about the work.

What we do not collect here

We do not collect payment card numbers, bank details, or government identification through this website. Payment is arranged directly with you at the time of service.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To schedule, confirm, and perform the service you booked
  • To send appointment confirmations, reminders, and updates
  • To reach you if we are running late or need to reschedule
  • To answer questions and provide quotes
  • To keep a service history so we know what your vehicle has had done
  • To ask for a review after a completed job
  • To send occasional offers, but only to people who have opted in to text messages
  • To keep business records, handle disputes, and comply with the law
  • To maintain, secure, and improve the website

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Text Messaging

We do not sell, rent, lease, or share your mobile phone number or your SMS consent with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used solely by Detail Lab to communicate with you about your service. No mobile information is shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. This applies to all categories of text messaging, including appointment reminders and offers.

We share mobile numbers with our messaging provider only to the extent required to deliver a message to you, and that provider is not permitted to use your number for its own purposes.

How you opt in

Text messages are only sent to people who actively check the consent box on our booking form at detaillabs.co/book. The box is never pre-checked, and consent is not a condition of purchasing any service from us. You can book without agreeing to texts.

What you will receive and how often

Appointment confirmations, appointment reminders, updates about a booking, review requests after a completed job, and occasional service offers. Message frequency varies and depends on how often you book with us. Most of what we send relates to an appointment you made.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Detail Lab does not charge you for these messages, but your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately. Reply HELP for assistance. You can also call or text 720-203-7363 or email us and we will remove you. After you opt out we may send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on your carrier and is not guaranteed.

5. Email

We send booking confirmations and service-related email to the address you give us. These are transactional and are part of providing the service you requested.

If we send a marketing email, it will include an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from marketing email does not stop the transactional email we need to send about a booking you have made.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary to make the site work, such as keeping your progress through the booking form. Others help us understand aggregate traffic, like which pages get visited and where visitors come from.

We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising, and we do not sell information collected through cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the booking form may not work correctly if you block all of them.

7. Photos of Your Vehicle

We sometimes photograph vehicles before and after a detail, for quality control, to document pre-existing damage, and occasionally for our website or social media.

We do not publish photographs that show your license plate, your address, or anything else that identifies you personally, and we never publish your name alongside a photo without asking. If you would prefer we not photograph your vehicle at all, or not use a photo publicly, just tell us before or after the appointment and we will honor it.

8. The Website Assistant

Our site includes a chat assistant that answers questions about services, pricing, and availability. What you type into it is processed to generate a response and may be retained so we can improve the answers and follow up if you asked us to.

Please do not enter payment card details, passwords, or other sensitive information into the assistant. Estimates it gives are informational and are not a binding quote.

9. Who We Share Information With

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only to the extent they need it to do that job. Those categories are:

  • Website hosting, which processes technical log data when you visit the site
  • Scheduling and business records, where bookings, customer records, and service history are stored
  • Text messaging, which delivers messages to your mobile carrier
  • Email delivery, which sends confirmations and notifications
  • The website assistant, which processes your questions to produce answers

These providers are bound to use the information only to provide the service to us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights and safety of Detail Lab, our customers, or the public. If the business is ever sold or transferred, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction, and this policy would continue to apply until it is replaced.

10. We Do Not Sell Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We do not trade or lease customer lists. As stated above, this applies with particular force to mobile phone numbers and SMS consent, which are never shared with anyone for marketing purposes.

11. How We Protect Your Information

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to customer records is limited to Detail Lab staff who need it to do their job and is protected by individual accounts. Our providers maintain their own security controls.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by Colorado law.

12. How Long We Keep It

We keep customer and service records for as long as you are a customer and for a reasonable period afterward, so we have a service history for your vehicle and can handle warranty questions, disputes, and tax records. Message logs are kept for a similar period.

Records of an opt-out are kept indefinitely, because we need them to make sure we do not text you again by mistake. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

13. Your Rights and Choices

Colorado residents may have rights under the Colorado Privacy Act. Whether or not that law applies to a business our size, we honor the following requests from anyone:

  • Access. Ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction. Ask us to fix information that is wrong.
  • Deletion. Ask us to delete your information.
  • Portability. Ask for a copy of your information in a portable format.
  • Opt out. Stop text messages, marketing email, or both.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. Your price and your service do not change because you opted out of texts or asked us to delete your data.

14. Making a Request

Contact us using the details in section 19. We will confirm we received your request and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and may take up to 45 additional days.

We may need to verify your identity before acting, usually by confirming details from an existing booking. If we decline your request, we will explain why, and you can appeal by replying to that response. We will respond to an appeal within 45 days.

15. Children

Our services are directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

16. Do Not Track

Browsers can send a Do Not Track signal, but there is no agreed standard for how sites should respond. We do not track visitors across other websites, so our practices do not change based on that signal.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If we make a material change to how we handle text messaging or share information, we will make that clear on this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
